Congress not to be blamed for failing law and order: Gaikhangam

IMPHAL, Apr 19 : Terrorism is rampant in the world and in Manipur too the terrorist violence is being perpetrators by some anti social activities said Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee president Gaikhangam today.

It would be very wrong to blame the Congress government solely for the uncontrolled law and order situation in Manipur. Instead the people should unite together and fight terrorism, he added

Gaikhangam was addressing a public meeting cum election campaign of the party in relation with the upcoming 15th Lok Sabha election at the Wangkhei Durga Pujah Lampak.

Gaikhangam further noted that the Congress was the only party that would be able to garner the support of the people from each and every section of our society and continue to work for ensuring prosperity, dignity and security for every person in the state.

Those who are shouting that Manipur is going to break down are completely wrong since it is a fact that Manipur has stood firm since the beginning of history, he said.

The Congress did not take it as an issue though the other political parties are making it an issue to create conflict in the state, he observed while maintaining that no one would be able to harm the state.

The Congress party has a history of long governance in India and in Manipur and further pledges to give a strong government in the state, he said while asserting that the party was sure to complete its full term.
