AIFB drafts 12 pt charter of demand

Imphal, Jul 1 : A meeting of the All India Forward Block, Manipur state council held today has drafted a 12 point charter of demand which would be submitted to the state government and also decided to launch protest if government failed to translate the demands into action.

Speaking after the meeting held at Kuki Inn, Imphal today, general secretary, Deboto Bishwas said another round of meeting of the council which would held on July 5 will decide on which day the charter of demand will be submitted to the government.

If the government remained silent without doing anything with regard to the demands put up by the council, they will launch various forms of protest including staging sit-in protest.

Among others, the charter of demands includes government with a firm decision to stop unrestrained killing of people and bring peace in the state, to bring an end to the insurgency problem through political dialogue, to distribute PDS item is a proper manner and reached the actual beneficiaries.

To control the prices of the essential commodities, to take up programme which can generate self employment to the unemployed youths and to avail unemployment allowance to the unemployed persons, to make state education policy so as to ensure every children go school, to improve the inter-village roads etc.
