AMSGO calls on all to ensure class resumption from Monday

IMPHAL, Nov 9 : The All Manipur Students` Guardians` Organisation, AMSGO, called on all sections toensure resumption of classes from tomorrow, October 9.

In a press conference at the AMSGO office, Palace Compound, the advisor of the AMSGO, Haobijam Kula, while terming that the July 23 incident disheartening added that it was a consequence the state has been facing due to the raging armed conflict.

Under the circumstance, he said incidents like the July 23 carnage was expected to happen although not desirable.

However education sector should not be dragged into the scenario of armed conflict as this would be a great loss for the students community who are the future pillars of the state.

The advisor further appealed to the heads of the educational institutions to show courage and protect the sanctity of their respective institutions by not entertaining unfounded, excessive, imaginary fears, of any agencies or organizations in future and instead remain committed to the academic programme and to the cause of education.

It further appealed to the AMSU, MSF and KSA, not to involve themselves in the matter of resolving crucial and critical armed conflict which is beyond the scope or jurisdiction of the young students.

Involving impressionable young students in matters arising out of armed conflict is not ethical or humane, he said.

He also appealed to the parents to step forward and safeguard the interest of their wards.

He said the government and the chief minister should initiate action unilaterally for implementation of those specific points which are agreed upon so as to ease and defuse the lingering tension.

Further he also urged the senior citizens` society to place concrete suggestion irrespective of the stands of either the state Government or Apunba Lup and not to back out at this critical juncture which may hamper the restoration and normalization of peaceful conduct of academic life in the various educational institutions of the valley area.
