Imphal, Jul 23 : Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh today distributed educational items worth about Rs one crore to 57 schools at a function held at Lamphelpat here.
All the schools were under DNA (DBT's Natural Resource Awareness) Clubs category. The objective of the club is to inculcate a sense of appreciation for bio-resources of the country, their uses and management into students.
Mr Singh said, ''We should include more schools in the DNA Club category. The activities under the DNA clubs are proposed to be a unique mix that includes interactions with eminent personalities associated with Bio-resources and Bio-technology.
