Ccpur, Dec 24 : The Kuki National Organistaion, KNO, has issued a statement in the name of Lenin H Kuki, information and publicity secretary today in which it conveyed Christmas greetings to all the Kuki churches wishing them a merry Christmas and joyous new year.
In the release it said that the KNO is very much aware of the pathetic social, economic and political situation due to which many are unable to warm theselves even with second hand clothes.
Moreover, many are faced with hardships and painful conditions due to the harvest failure from the jhum type cultivation thus making the celebration of Christmas very gloomy, it said.
In spite of this, the KNO appealed to all to seek God so as to celebrate the occassion with real peace of mind while appealing further to all not to lose confidence and support to their national struggle.
"As the Kuki people yearned for peace the KNO hoped a peaceful settlement on their legitimate demands and democratic political aspirations would be gained by the peace process in the name of the SoO with the government," the release said.
NNN adds: Sending out Christmas greetings to the people, the Kuki Students Organisation, general headquarters (KSO-Ghq) and All Naga Students Association, Manipur (ANSAM) have wished and said that let this Christmas bring peace, harmony and prosperity among the peaple.
The apex bodies of Kuki students and Naga students in Manipur also prayed that joy, love and hope fill every heart this Christmas.
