Imphal, Jan 28 : Three militants were killed in different encounters between police and armed militants in three districts of Manipur.
A militant was killed on the spot on Wednesday and others managed to escape in nearby jungles after a ten-minute gunfight at Khuman Lampak area in Imphal East district between armed militants and police.
One handgrenade was found from the dead militant, sources said.
Two militants were also killed in separate encounters between armed militants and police at Chongtham Kona and Ngariyan hill in Manipur's Imphal West and Thoubal districts respectively yesterday.
Some ammunition were found from the slain militants, sources said.
