IMPHAL, Dec 22 – A total of about 7,017 people engaged in selling or consuming drugs in Manipur are either kept in rehabilitation centres or being counselled by All Manipur Anti-Drugs Association (AMADA) since its inception from December 20, 2005, informed the Association campaigning against drugs and other forms of intoxicants.
Speaking to media persons, the secretary of AMADA informed that they have been able to destroy drugs worth Rs 2. 22 crore which included local brews, heroin, Spasmo Proxyvon tablets, imported liquor (registered), Recodex, Raja Khaini, Talab and Zarda since its inception.
AMADA which has 123 units and four district councils has organised several awareness programmes and campaigns against drugs and other intoxicants in various places in the State.
