Imphal, February 09 2010: The agitating Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) has decided to relax its ongoing indefinite economic blockade for 36 hours from 6 am of February 10 .
The SDSA said that this decision was taken yesteray in its presidential meeting in view of the Manipur Baptist Convention Annual Assembly cum Quinquenial Fellowship to be held at Senapati district.
The SDSA has been agitating demanding the improvement of the National Highway 39, the main lifeline of Manipur.
The SDSA, meanwhile, appeals all the transporters to co-operate when it resume its agitation after the lapse of its relaxation period.
Meanwhile, the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) has decided to suspend its ongoing agitation of closing the Out Patient Department (OPD) considering the difficulties faced by patients from far-flung areas.
The RIMS staff have beeb on ceasewrk strike for not releasing their salaries on time.
