Imphal, June 17 (ANI): Manipur, which has over the years produced many talented persons, has added another feather to its cap through Henba Tensuba, a well-known painter who has won many accolades and his life serves as a role model for the young generation.
Tensuba, 54, who is currently working at the Directorate of Economics and Statistics in Manipur, has organized many exhibitions and workshops across the country not only to showcase his work but also to promote young talent in the field of painting.
His latest collections of painting were showcased at the Lalit Kala Academy in Delhi that included some of the magnificent works on the life of a woman in Manipur.
"This time my painting is mainly focused on women's life that how they live either outside or home because through my painting I want to show a different kind of problems they are facing," Tensuba said.
Tensuba has been learning painting since his childhood and started working after he completed his class XII.
Tensuba now wants to open an art school but the lack of financial resources has prevented him to take the concept forward.
The eminent artist also sights insurgent activities in the region as a major problem for the young artists to come up and show their talent.
"It's not an easy task to be an artist in Manipur because we do not get materials required for painting. Hence it becomes tough to promote our work in Manipur," he added.
Art forms a significant part of the Manipuri society as many artists have used it as a medium to showcase the socio-political situation of the region. (ANI)
