Imphal , Aug 24 Union Home Secretary G K Pillai today discussed the Manipur situation with Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, official sources said.
The recent unrest arising out of the July 23 incident in which police commandos killed a youth in an alleged fake encounter might have figured in the discussion, sources said.
Pillai along with Joint Secretary, Home, Nabin Verma, visited the state to oversee the implementation of the development programmes.
After their arrival on Friday Pillai and Verma along with state officials participated in a seminar on development activities in Bishenpur district. They visited Senapati and Ukhrul districts yesterday to see the progress of work being taken up there, sources said.
A student&aposs organisation which had called for a blockade along Imphal - Dimapur national highway no 39 for not repairing the road from Senapati to Mao in Manipur has withdrawn it after getting assurance from the union home secretary that the repair work will be taken up by the Border Road Task Force.
