2 women held with wildlife products

IMPHAL, May 11 – Close on the heels of the recent recovery of tiger bones, Assam Rifles jawans along with lady police on Saturday apprehended two women along with banned wildlife products at Khudengthabi check post, around 100 km south of here.

The two women were moving in a Maruti Van towards Moreh, Assam Rifles sources here said. They have been handed over to Customs officials, the source added.

The recovered 14 deer horns were destroyed by burning in the presence of Customs officials and community leaders.

The troops of Assam Rifles also discovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in a search operation in Lamlai area under Imphal East district on Saturday.
