Imphal, February 12 : Under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) Manipuri Jagoi Marup, a leading Manipuri dance performing group is sending an 8 member strong troupe to various Army stations in Northern India.
The troupe led by I Joychandra Singh (51), a veteran Manipuri artist will perform at Delhi and other military cantonments.

Major General CA Krishnan, IGAR (South) stated that this was an opportunity to show case the rich culture of Manipur in the other parts of the country.
The 11 days itinerary of the troupe includes Jalandhar, Agra and Jaipur, said a press release of PRO IGAR (S).
Major General CA Krishnan, IGAR (South) also visited Carmel Jyoti Child Care Centre in Luwangsangbam and provided financial assistance to the centre for the under privileged children.
While speaking to the management he hailed their noble efforts of looking after so many children and serving the society.
He promised that Assam Rifles will try their best to assist them in whatever manner possible.
He wished the children good health, happiness and bright future.
The IGAR also promised to immediately provide outdoor and indoor sports items for the children, said the release.
