Imphal, Mar 8 : Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh today presented a budget estimate of Rs 4934.4 crore for 2010-11.
He moved a vote of account for grant of expenditure covering the first four months of the financial year 2010-11 so as to enable the government carry on the activities from April 1. An amount of Rs 501.75 cr is charged expenditure and Rs 4437.65 crore is voted expenditure.
The provisional total expenditure for the next financial year was placed at Rs 1821.64 crore under Plan, Rs 2883.24 crore under Non Plan and Rs 234.52 crore under Centrally-sponsored schemes.
The full budget could not be presented as the plan size and the detailed modalities for implementation of the award of the 13th Finance Commission have not been finalised yet, he added.
On the first day of the Seventh Session of the Ninth Assembly, the Chief Minister said the per capita income of the state which stood at Rs 25,370 was expected to rise at Rs 27,304 in the next fiscal year.
Presenting the revised budget estimate for 2009-10 he said the total expenditure was placed at Rs 4550 crore and has been revised to Rs 5167.22 crore. The plan outplay for the last year was placed at Rs 2000 crore and has been increased to Rs 2036.88 crore in the revised budget, he further said.
The Chief Minister also presented the Report of the Select Committee on the Manipur Higher Secondary Education (Second Amendment) Bill, 2009.
